Reflecting through Poetry
Led by Ian Miller
Mondays, 7:00PM, Astoria
Open to All

“Poets tell us what our eyes, blurred with too much gawking, and our ears, dulled with too much chatter, miss around and within us. Poets use words to drag us into the depth of reality itself.” – Eugene Peterson

Each week in this group, we’ll gather together to read selections of poetry, both from scripture and inspired by scriptural themes. We’ll use the poems we read as a basis for reflection and conversation. No experience of any sort necessary — just a desire to read and connect!

Multiply: Discipleship in 2019
Led by Louisa Wells and Claire Sersun
Wednesdays, 7:15PM, Upper East Side
Open to All

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20. The Great Commission. We’ve heard it at some point in our lives if we’ve been around church long enough, but practically what does it look like? How do we live this out in 2019? Join us as we read through Frances Chan’s Multiply and discuss what this looks like for us as we move through the new year. Come ready to find community and encouragement as we walk through what this means together.
